I received some Sony Video8 tapes (just my luck) I tried playing them in my VHS-C adapter (the big tape that you insert small tapes in) and Sony cameras. But, the tapes don't work especially in the VHS-C Adapter. The only option I think is available is to find a compatible VHS-C Adapter. I don't know where to start looking so I'm looking for suggestions of stores and brands/models. Price range would be good too.
Also, if there any options besides buying an adapter then please tell me. There is no video stores nearby so I can't consider that as an option.

Cannot be done - there is no adapter which takes an 8mm tape and allows you to put it in a VHS VCR - the formats are totally different and it is impossible to do.
you need a compatible 8mm camera - or use one of the many companies around that can transfer it to a DVD for you.
