Clothes washed at lower temp (30deg C) never seem very fresh. What you find?

I don' t find the clothes and bedding are very fresh when they've been washed at the lower temperature that they keep saying to use. I find it's better at 40degC and 60deg C. What do others find?? ??

i think the same thing i thought it was just me because my friends all say it does not make a difference, i even changed my washing products never worked either. thank you for showing me i was not imagining it.
Reply:I only use 30°C for darks, jeans etc. if they are not too dirty. It doesn't get other things clean. also, you have to use a liquid detergent because powders don't dissolve at that temperature. Stick to your 40°C for light clothing and 60°C for towels and sheets.
Reply:my wash is set on 30c for bio wash and main wash kicks in at 45c i have found no prblems they are clean and bright and smell okay this is a front loader i have no idea what type of washing machine you use.
Reply:most detergent are formulated to work there best on warm water. cold water does not activate the cleaning mechanisms and hot water destroys them. A warm temp will work the best, and most fabrics will tolerate the warm temp

good luck
Reply:Same here, we had 2 very young kids and 30deg just does not cut the mustard.

Tried it for 6 months, with every non-bio on the market.

Gone back to 40 in the end.
Reply:I mostly wash on 40c as 30c just isn't good enough to get my childrens clothes clean but when i do towels or bedding i put it on a 60c.
Reply:i wash everything with straight cold water. it cost less, and it cleans very well. maybe you should try a different detergent or fabric softener.
Reply:Its a fallacy in an attempt to get us to lower the temp in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
