I've seen it before but can't find where.

Please help. How do I find all the data, including different types of memory, regarding my C disk?
Youre talking about hard drive space, not memory. If you have lots of pics movies and tunes burn them onto a CD or DVD then, after making sure the burn was sucessful, delete them. Uninstall any old programs or games you don't use. Then go into system tools and do a "disk cleanup" Note: There should be a hibernation folder as part of the disk cleanup. It is the same size as the amount of memory you have. If you have 2GBs of ram then that file will be 2GBs for example. If you use hibernation don't remove that folder because it disables your hibernation capability. I suggest that, if you removed a lot of stuff, then, when you're done, do a defrag. The reason you defrag the drive last is that you will have a lot of free spaces scattered all over the drive that were created when you removed stuff. Doing a defrag first is pointless because you are going to turn around and frag the drive again when you start to clean it up. You may just want to get a storage drive. Both internal and external hard drives are cheap nowadays.

I assume you mean you have 7.81GBs of free hard drive space and that isn't the size of the drive itself, right? If you do only have an 8GB hard drive its time to buy a bigger drive. I have folders bigger than that--LOL.
Reply:On MY COMPUTER you will see probably one drive and it is usually named C:/

Click on it and there will be a couple of folders

System Volume Information

WINDOWS (Assuming you have XP)

You cannot increase your hard drive space if the total is 8 GB or 7.14 something. You will have to buy a newer and faster drive.

Judging by the small storage space your pc is at least 7-10 years old get a new one.
